The little, plastic waste basket in our bathroom broke, so I took the opportunity to make one out of wood that would match the other wooden accouterments that I made over the summer. I used some wood, possibly poplar which was previously a pair of end tables that we no longer needed.
The design is simple, two straight sides and two tapered sides. A rabbet to accept a bottom panel. I chamfered the corners to de-clunkify it a bit and also to match the style of the towel bars, etc. I added two drawer pulls, one on either side to help keep the plastic bags, (re-used from shopping,) from being pulled inside.
I painted it with white 'ceiling paint' and put a spray coat of white gloss paint over that
