This is my first woodworking project. I wanted to have something from left to right and from top to bottom with empty of storage. Hmmm, tried to find something ready made, but to no available. I was thinking more and more about building one myself. I talked about that with my wife and thought she liked the idea but was not expecting that it go further than talks. Well, one day I finally decided to start. I tried to model my cabinet in Sketchup. Once I got the idea of what to make I went to BORG and bought 4 sheets of 4×8 of 3/4” red oak plywood from Home Depot and started to work…. It turned out as a big project, really. Biggest challenge was finishing! Yes, each panel was clear coated tree time both sides and since my woodshop is single car garage, so not too much space. Anyway, I made it!
not less than 7 sheets 4×8 of 3/4” red oak plywood;
2 sheets of 4×8 of 1/4” red oak plywood;
Gallon of Zar UltraMax oil modified water based poly;
200 feet of edging veneer;
handles and hinges, lots of them;

Guys, thank you for warm words.
Functionally it’s a furniture, but I would say it’s more constrruction scale project ;-)

Massive. That must clear up some clutter. Great job, espically for a first project of this size. You could have done a better job centering the TV though. At least for the picture ;)

How long have you had the Athena speakers. I have the same set for about 6 or 7 years and I think my center is dying.
