I enjoy history, especially American history. Having been born and raised in Texas, then Virginia and Maryland, I saw these symbols many times growing up. To do a project like this you need but only a few things: a printer, a pyrographic pen set, and most importantly patience. This project took me about a month from initial sanding, design, placement, actual burning, and finishing. I am pleased with the outcome. My choice of meshing the southern flag with that of the United States is not racially driven. It is purely out consideration for the history behind both flags and in the regions of the US that I spent my adolescence.
