Well the Mother-in-Law decided that she liked the Intarsia that I made for the Wife. Sooo, what are you going to do? :-)
Decided to try a few different things out on the new one. I was able to find a really green Poplar board so I made all of the leaves out of that. There’s not a lot of grain pattern, but I think the color turned out really well. All of the body and branch are made from Western Red Cedar. The dark bits are either American Walnut or Peruvian Walnut.
Hope you enjoyed it!

1. Finished project
2. All glued together but no finish. Sometimes there is a really dramatic color change when I put the clear coat on. This time, not so much.
3. Close up
4. The original that I made for the wife.

Real nice and quite a feat duplicating so close to the original.

It’s a nice piece of art that is creatively done with a lot of craftsmanship.

Thanks all! Glad you all enjoyed it! I’ve got a few ideas for some other projects that are coming up, including some furniture that would include some Intarsia work. We will see if it works out or not. ;-)
