I needed a couple quick file handles.
A couple pieces of scrap with a little shaping from a plane and raspe.
I think that the rectangle shape helps to register which way is the flat side.

One way to pretty much insure the handle remains tight is to heat the tang to red and force the handle on. The hole in the handle needs to be smaller than the mid point of the tang.
My file handles haven’t come loose in 5 years of daily use.

Nice work, the handles not being round also help with rolling around excessively.
