After having to try to make a decent cut on a full sheet of 3/4 ply and having a deuce of a time, I came up with this. I am going to make a 8 footer to go with this 49 inch guide. I can consistently cut to within 1/64’ over the 4 foot distance.
To make measuring easier, I cut kerfs on each end of the jig at 24 inches from the blade. When I clamp this up, nothing moves except the well waxed jig.
Since I work from a wheelchair, the toughest part is wrestling the full sheet to the top of the saw. After that it is a piece of cake.
UPDATE: June 20, 2010 I added the LegUp to the fence bar on the right side. Now when I pull the sheet goods out for cutting, this little jewel makes the chore of getting the full sheet on the saw a snap. If you work alone and cut 4×8 sheets of plywood, this is a must. I just love mine. In the picture, it is the long yellow J hook on the right.
I have another up grade coming, but I have to build it first. I have a few projects ahead of it. Thanks for looking.
