So my wife finds this picture on Pinterest, and says “I want one to display our Christmas houses”.

That was about 5 months ago, and most every week she’s been asking “You make my Christmas house display yet?” So finally I’m getting over this horrible flu bug that’s going around and I’m able to spend a couple hours in my shop. It’s taken me a week or better to do this because I have about a 10” blood clot in my right leg and my Dr doesn’t want me to spend but about an hour or so at a time on my feet. I’ll let the pictures show what I came up with.

I bought 5 six-foot extension cords and cut the ends off. Then I spliced all the socket ends to one cord. That way I only have one plug at the bottom of the display. The whole thing stands about 6 foot tall.
.
.
Comments and questions? You know the drill. Thanks for looking at my projects.

This is really cool (as long as my wife doesn’t see it).

Very good, Joe.
Geeze! The flu, and a blood clot? How are your fingers? Did they heal up? Did you lose sensation in them, at all?

It’s not a tree house – it’s a House Tree! Great job, very creative. Thanks for posting and best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery. Happy Holidays!

That’s cool. I like it. It saves a lot of room compared to having them on a table. I’ll have to show my wife. She has been looking for new ideas for them.
Take care of yourself. Your wife has more projects in mind.

Cool build JoG.

May be a tad late now that you’ve fessed up to recovering, but for future use, I could send you some of my stash of flu pills that I always use (on myself.. of course) when the missus asks me to do something I don’t wanna do.

Just noticed its the 1st of DEC. and time for decorations and projects.Yours is better than the picture , made with love. I started the Christmas thing with setting up a tree in the yard. Slick I just picked it up with the front end loader on the tractor and set it in a hole I dug. Daughter is coming home and want to impress the grand daughter.

Snarky comment …
No one wants to hear about the labor pains, they just want to see the baby.

My first thought was.. whoa! That is totally NOT cat-proof, but then again, my cats are just destructive little a**holes and so I remembered that other people often have sane pets and can actually have pretty Christmassy stuff and are able display it like this ;-D It’s a great display, especially with the built in electricity. You could even get some of those microlights to hang as ‘stars’ over the houses if you wanted.

Glad you are feeling better. Flu is awful, and blood clots are downright scary. Take care of you!

Very neat!

I bet that by Jan.1 she is suggesting something for next year too!

I do like Bushmaster’s way of putting up a Christmas tree though.. Hope he did not put it to close to the house though; as they seem to grow at least twice the size you want them to stay!

Nicely done, Joe! Happy wife, happy life! I can’t imagine how much more time I’d spend on the computer if I ever signed up for Pinterest. Perish the thought. Heal well, Joe.

Well done Joe… Very nice arrangement of the Christmas decorations; no good here as the 2yr old grandson would put it all down as I’m sure he will with out tree which is still in the backyard awaiting to be brought in and decorated… Bit too hot this week with high 90’s and even 100deg”F” today. Enjoy your cool winter in the north.

Thanks for all the nice comments. And yeah, Bonnie is very happy with it. It was pretty simple to build, just getting the time to do it. And dont worry, she has PLENTY of other projects she wants done.
