Wooden Mushroom Nutcracker

A fun little project standing approximately 120mm tall and just under 80mm across the cap and made from oak. The hole diameter is 35mm so even the largest nut will not be a problem. The body and cap were turned on the lathe but the threaded bit was made with the Beal threading system.
I would love to do thread chasing with all the possibilities it would open up but my lathe won’t go slow enough, good excuse for a new lathe if I can get enough cash :)

Great thing – old fashioned way of cracking them, nice spiral.

That is a great nutcracker. It’s very creative and nicely done.
