Quarter Sawn Oak Dresser to Match Antique Rocker

A long time customer asked us to build a dresser for her grand daughter to match an old family rocking chair. I was having trouble getting the grain dark enough so I sprayed black lacquer primer and then sanded it off. What was left in the grain really gave the dresser the appropriate aging. Not conventional but it gave me the desired result.

Hey Moffett
That’s a great looking dresser , You could have use some dye to make the grain pop also.

Beautiful piece. You did a fine job with it.
I also like your finishing technique.

Your dresser really has ‘the look’ that is so hard to achieve. Great work!
