I saw a few of these palm awl handles floating around social media and decided to try and give it a shot. After finalizing a pattern, I made my plan of attack for this project. I used the table saw, band saw, wide belt sander, 1×30 sander and some extensive elbow grease.

I ended up using a copper piece of pipe for the ferrule and special ordered a small #0 awl blade from Barry King Tools. After some hand sanding up to 600 grit, I applied a few coats of wipe on poly with some high grit paper in between coats.

I used a walnut block of wood for this project and have already received a dozen orders…....if I want to get into the making business. Not sure. Thanks for looking.
