I bought a small midi lathe a few weeks ago. I wanted to try to make a few different things. You can see i made two goblets, i more pen and a small basball bat. I am learning spindle work and going to make a small table soon out of walnut. the last couple of week ends i been doing honey do list for my wife. Put in a new kitchen faucet and a light over the mirror in the bathroom. So i have not spent a lot of time in the shop.

Nice job, Monty.

If your wife comes up with too many honey-dos, give her something strong to drink out of the goblet. If that doesn’t work, finish her off with the bat. :-)

Cool work Monty… always nice to use up some scrap lumber on small projects and get the gain of practice and an end result… the small bat would be a great gift for smaller kids…

Great group of turnings. Lots of uses for those small scraps when doing spindle turnings. Glue a few together and oyu get even more interesting things.

Lots of good work here.

Keep it up.

Thanks guys for all the nice comments. I really enjoy using the lathe, it relaxes me. I have a lamp in the makings soon and then a table. By the way we got about 6 to 8 inches of snow here in S.C. thats a lot for us. I have not seen that much since i was in Colorado. Take care i will be writing again soon.
