Hi there. I’ve been stalking this site for months an decided to join after I finally finished these tool boxes for my nephews I halfway expected that they’ll never be used but I’m not real supportively of the gamer society that a lot of kids participate in so my hope is that since my three nephews will all b teens next year that they will start getting sick of setting in front of a tv and learn to build things (after all isn’t woodworking just adult legos)
Anyway, I built these from plain old pine. Nothing fancy but they’ll hold some of the tools I already got them for Christmas last year I wanted to use dowels to hold them together but time didn’t allow so they were glued An finished nailed together I did use a 1in oak dowel as the carry handle though.
I’m more of a carpenter but I’m trying to learn some of the finer points of woodworking
Thanks for looking

Very cool! Maybe for their first project with you, show them how to put finish on them? :) I try to get the kids in my life out in the shop as much as I can too.

Great first project and welcome to LJs
