I decided to make some bottle stoppers for family members that have NRA memberships. I made six in all, here is a sampling of two. Been a long time since I fired up the lathe. Was fun.

These are beautifully done and will make great stocking stuffers.

Thank you for the nice comments. The stopper part is a pretty new design that I purchased from Ruth Niles. I really like them. She also has them in brass.

Thanks Pete, and Crowie.

The one laying down is macadamia nut wood, the other I am not sure. I have been using up some blanks I’ve had for years.

G’Day Paul, “macadamia” is a native of Queensland, Australia and you have pieces of timber…wow… I know the trees were taken to the Americas but even up to the cool end too…

If I remember correctly the Macadamia came fro Australia. I got it off Ebay. It does not grow in the NW of the US, not sure it grows anywhere in the us.

You are probably correct. That is were I first tasted one when I was stationed there in 1964!
