This is a custom murphy bed designed look like a row of lockers. It was completed in February 2010. It is a cross between my Special Edition Baseball Bed and my Locker Murphy Bed. What makes this on a “Special Edition” is the wood choice and the headboard features. The wood used is Ash. The same wood used on most bats I receive form Louisville Slugger. The color, I call Hornsby, after a style of bat from Louisville Slugger.
The headboard was stained and then the scoreboard letters were cut out using a CNC router. By staining it first it left natural wood look for the letters.
This customer had family member that played ball from different countries. That is the reason for the different flags under the names of the doors. The three door in the center are nonworking. They come down with the bed. The outer doors are bookcases with adjustable shelves and drawers on the lower section.
