This is my first woodworking project, save a “Spag Special” cutting board and a insect display box for my nephew. I made this bed for my son as his first big boy bed. It is soft maple and finished with a danish oil/varnish blend in natural. I used a round over bit on each of the vertical slats in the headboard and footboard to give the beaded effect. They are not glued, top and bottom, just slide back and forth in the dados.

Very nice project. I really like the way the finish turned out. Your son should be able to enjoy this for years to come and pass it along to his son or daughter. Wonderful….

Nicely done Hutch. I’m sure there will be many nights of blissful sleep through the generations by your son and his kids. Keep up the good work.
