Another birthday present for my wife. This is all made from 1×6 white oak. We had too many unshelved cds around and this helped to unclutter the house a bit. It was my first try at sliding dovetails. There were two main problems. I built this in the basement and it had to go into an upstairs room. At about 45×72, it took some help getting it up two sets of stairs. The second was that even though the case was made square, the floor was off level by 1/4 in. in the width of the unit. Since we were not exactly sure where it would go when finished, I simply built up one side with thick felt sliders.

Your wife must have a large CD collection. Nice shelf.

GREAT WORK ON THE DOVE TAILS!! I’d like to see a picture of the shelf with the CD’s on it.
