This was the first project I had done in years. My wife and I are avid Scrabble players and I promised her one for a birthday present (it was only 6 months late!). The board itself came from an old desk; the playing surface is a piece of lucite; the letters on the left side are refrigerator magnets; and the grid is beaten copper wire. If I were to do it again, I can see how I would make a few improvements. Overall I am happy with it and, more importantly, so is my wife!

Make sure to add 75 points to your scrabble total each time for “the one who made the board.”
Nice.

Bonus points. A cool looking board. I take it you used a board to get the point values from and put them under the lucite? My wife and I also like to play and have multiple sets but not a really nice to leave out.

I made a board too it was 4 wide w/ six sets of letters the rules were different, cuss words allowed, the games would last 6 to 7 days. I would like to make another, gave the first one away. Good job on your board, lots of fun isn’t it.
