For Druid!

As was suggested by a fellow sawdust manufacturer; after the signs, I had to make wands. These are to be party favors.

They were made from the firewood pile, include apple, a few flowering cherry, and some, just unknown.

The diameter at the handle is from about 1 inch to 1-1/2 inches and the length is from 11 or so to about 13 inches for the longest one.

Finish is paste wax applied on the lathe at high speed.

Burn marks were also done on the lathe using a sharp corner of a block and fairly high pressure, also done at full speed. I found this technique accidentally when the sanding block edge did that some time ago!

The cedar chest the wands are on is 55+ years old. It s a Bedford Cedar Company kit, tha I put together either 2nd or 3rd year of high-school. It was refinished by me 6 years ago.

These are going to be soooooo well appreciated.
So . . . you are adding a bit of magic to the party. Such hidden talent. :)

Party favors, makes me laugh. They look great and will probably be a big hit. Must of been a lot of fun turning.

Way better than using these for firewood! I like that you left the bark on some.

Mr. Olivander will be jealous. Just tell the kids they have to add their own magic. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, you really got into the spirit of Harry Potter memorabilia. The wands look great and you have provided an assortment to choose from. Nicely done.
