A friend (co-worker) wanted me to make him a wine/liquor cabinet because up to now, his booze was in the open and when his friends came over, they went straight for the bottles like moths to a flame. I sketched up some ideas and he liked what I came up with but one day while browsing through some of my magazines, I saw this one which was about 95% identical to what I had planned so I went with it.

The original plan called for the wine holders to be in the middle but he liked the idea of them being off to one side.

I like the simple lines of this project, nothing fancy. All from Cherry and Cherry ply plus Poplar for the inside of the drawers.

3 coats of Minwax Antique Oil Finish, #0000 steel wool between each coat and 3 coats of wipe on poly (5 on the top).

Hope you like and thanks for looking…..

Nicely done cabinet. It looks very good inside and out including the finish.

Thanks….as I only do this as a hobby, although, the line between a hobby and a second job has now blurred to the point of non-existence, I can only devote time after work (reg job) and weekends. If I recall, it took about 3 or 4 weeks from start to delivery.
