Just a whimsy really but quite eye-catching. These loose-leaf sketchbooks have an oak front and back. I’ve set a polished ammonite fossil into the front of one. I hand-routed the recess and finished off with a small carving tool; then epoxied the ammonite into place.

Great project – and well executed. The things we do for whimsy’s sake are often the best.
I can see a few things like this coming out of my shop. You’re really helping to “influence” my Christmas to-do list.

This is great, and such a simple idea. But your artistic touches make it beautiful. Really cool.
