I made this for our Christmas gift exchange at my in-laws house this year. Basic frame and panel construction made with my Freud router sets. The frame is oak and panel is 1/4” maple ply. Engraved using the Versa laser engraver we have at school.
After glue up, I trimmed the frame to be flush and routed the outside with a cove and bead bit. I stained the frame with Minwax Ebony stain, and then sanded off a majority of it to give a high contrast between open and hard grain.
This decorative piece will hang by the small triangular hanger attached to the back.
Thanks for looking, and good luck to everyone who is making their gifts this year!
