This is a staircase/loft that was built using our Kabukalli hardwood. Until this project, I’d mostly recommended Kabukalli for outdoor use. (It’s a popular Guyana hardwood and great for the tropics.) After seeing the outcome of this, I have sold it more and more for all sorts of applications. The only “iffy” thing about Kabukalli is that it has a pungent, “stinky” odor (as my sons say) that eventually disappears as it air dries fully. It’s an unmistakable scent. I could pick it out when blindfolded. Which by the way, is how my husband partly taught me the business and how to differentiate between the different species we offer. Sort of curious to know if anyone has used Kabukalli outside of the Caribbean and how it was used. Thanks!
