While I admire your ingenuity I believe most people who would build this are novices. With no protection from kickback I believe this design is dangerous. Table saws are inherently dangerous as it is and without kickback protection (such as a riving knife) are downright deadly.

A great Aussie product called a Triton workbench comes to mind, its much safer, and does the same job…that is if you can still buy them these days!!
