I got a commission to make a “dark wood bowl”, and somewhat randomly chose to make it out of mostly sapele. What a gorgeous species of wood! It is amazing how it reacts to light, and it turns really well. I decided to make a second bowl at the same time to save time for a future sale, and put the before and after bowls side by side for this picture. Even with segmented bowls it still sort of feels like a waste in regards to how much material ends up on the shop floor. Take care, George

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.
