Inlaid padauk hair comb

A long time ago I have not posted my projects. So here the one of them made in 2014 for russian actress.
This hair comb made from padauk and inlaid with silver, mother of pearl, serpentine.
Dimensions: 5,3×14,3 cm.

That is gorgeous. How do you make such tiny cuts for the delicate silver wire? (I assume that’s silver wire, anyway?)

Edited To Add: Ohh, I see. I checked your blog. I’m still not sure what tool that is you’re using to make the fine cuts, but that’s the trick of it!

I m still not sure what tool that is you re using to make the fine cuts, but that s the trick of it!

Yes it`s a silver wire, to be more precisely it`s a silver tape 1-1,5 mm width.
The tool is on the attached picture. This is a narrow chiesel made from a needle file.

Beautiful work РI am familiar with that type of silver wire (I used it for cloisonn̩ enameling), never thought of using it as inlay in wood. Thanks for posting.
