Instead of using plastic containers to gather small stuff around the shop and to free the countertops, I gathered few scraps and made those indestructible trays. Sliding dovetails secure the corners and the bottoms are glued and nailed 1/4” plywood and MDF (no grooves for shop trays). My horizontal router table was the ideal tool to mill the narrow male parts providing good support while the miter gauge kept them square. One coat of linseed oil should repel dirt, grease and oil from hardware, tools and parts.

Thanks for looking.

Hello Serge

A very good idea to use few scraps.

Seeing the construction I agree with you : indestructible trays

Thanks for sharing

That horizontal router table is such a useful tool to have. Perfect for your shop trays!

I can’t count the times I had wished my standard router table had a higher fence, the horizontal table solves that problem.
