I made this cherry cabinet for my former neighbor’s place down in Florida. We came up with the design after looking at a few wine glass/bottle holders on the internet.
It’s solid cherry stained a merlot color. I would have left the cherry natural, but we were trying to match an existing floor cabinet. I should say roughly match, since all I had to go on was a picture.
As you can see, it is mostly pocket hole joinery and it hangs on the wall with a french cleat.
The finish is a BLO/Poly/Mineral spirits wipe on blend. I sealed with #1 shellac before the stain went on. I left the top unattached so he could send some screws through the french cleat if needed, but I’m told that the cleat holds it up fine by itself.
