Been awhile since I’ve posted a project but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been making any, actually I’ve been working on quite a few projects at the same time, but finishing none. Mainly I had to rearrange the shop, no, put it this way, I totally rearranged and cleaned out the shop, this becomes a necessity when you purchase a new piece of equipment and work in a small shop, anyhow.
This piece was a custom order to fit on a rather large wall of a cathedral ceilinged room.
Made of solid quarter sawn red oak and with the exception of planning and sizing the wood all joints, dados and dovetails were done with hand tools. Finished with one coat of BLO and two of amber shellac.
Thanks for looking!
