ok so this table was essentially my 2nd delving into “woodworking” about 3 months ago if i recall correctly
basicly crazy4wood had been pushing me to actually “finish” a few of my projects and when she helped finish the basement i said ok its yer turn, she had been talking about a barnwood table for quite some time from a movie so i got to push her a bit this round
ive done a ton of metal work but my woodworking skills had never been anything worth while, other then the normal putting together the “sauder type” entertainment center and so on, other then the basic construction skills as im a laborer for the last 12-13 years now, so this is what we came up with basicly 1×1 angle for the frame and we had planned on doing some leafy stuff, they never came out quite right but before we had really known what a planer would actually do to the wood we made 1 of the leafs into a brand and burned a bunch of leaves on but any finish we tested would just create a nasty sludgy color, im sure most of you know what im talking about, then we went to a buddys place whose pretty much an artistic/woodworker/freelancer kinda guy who let us use his planer a few passes until it took a crap, sorry matt!...but it was a good excuse for him to get his new dewalt 13 inch planer and also gave us a great look into what it would be after getting planed
anyways the new look was completely amazing as u can see, so this table is what came out of the project, but we still have plans to shorten the legs a bit and also add a remote shelf ontoit.
it was finished with water base satin poly, which neither of us were real happy working with and the paint is just flat black enamel P.S. the 3rd pic not sure what the scoop was but the rod must be double-exposed somehow, there should only be 1 of them

I believe the “extra” rods are actually the shadows of the rods on the floor, from the flash. You can see them because the flash and the lens aren’t “coaxial”. Anyway, fine table.

That is one nice table. Looks good & sturdy.
I wish I could come across wood like that.
