Project Information

New addition to the living room, it always been a bit dark in there. I made the lamp from a piece of butternut that i have had for about 10 years now, i just didn't know what to do with it. It was my first project using that type of wood and what a nice wood to work with. if i can get my hand on some more of that butternut i will! Anyway the lamp is 48 inch high and 10inch wide and deep. The construction is mainly mortise and tenon. The shelves are imbeded 1/2 of an inch into the legs. And the legs are imbedded 1/2 pf an inch into the base and screwed from underneath. I used thin plastic glass that i sanded (80 grit) on both sides for the shades. The finish is waterlox original and 2 coats of water based poly. Cheers

Very nice looking and functional lamp. May try to build a similar one for my office. Thanks for sharing.
