Simple box joint chest made with 1 x clear pine from the big box store screwed together with #8 1 1/4 screws. My daughter wants me to paint it blue to match my grandson’s room. The box joints were pretty sloppy so I routed the edges, which not only hid some of the mess I made of the joints but also ended up sort of highlighting the joints more than when they were flush. I’m sure the paint will hide the rest of the mistakes. Not my best effort but a fun weekend covered in man glitter.

Beautiful chest. One thing, it looks like the lid has to be open to pick it up?

MGKIRELAND you have a keen eye. You don’t actually have to have the lid open but it’s not a nice easy grasp the way it is now. When I cut the handle holes I didn’t account for the top which hadn’t been attached (note to self next time), I should have made the front and back panels just a bit shorter. I ran into a similar problem with another chest I made from a plan; this one was just me fooling around on a weekend.
