Built before announcement of challenge09 but made totally of scraps. Thanks to Gary K for the Insight on how to put Fabric on Posterboard then to Wood. Made of Walnut(leftover from End Table I Made), QS Sycamore?(Pallet), Cherry?(Pallet). Finished with Tung Oil & Clear Laquer. Held together with nothing but the glue!, All wood from Scraps even the finish is at least 6mo Old. Even the Magnets are from some Magnetix toys I have. Fabric & posterboard at least 5 yrs old. Sorry no before Pictures.

Love the chess pieces, nice touch placing the contrasting wood in the center.

Those chess pieces look great. And very nice work on the board too. One of my good friends loves ches and collects pieces and special boards. He’s probably got like 10 sets. It’d be cool to make him something this nice someday. Thanks for sharing.

That’s beautiful. Definitely worth more than $150 I think.

$150? If I made something like this (I wish I could!) I would not sell it even for $500!
