Alistair, a turkey call is a call that you take to the woods to try to call in and kill a turkey, as simple as i can put it i think.
Partridge- These calls are used by striking the playing surface with the striker, or stick that you can see in a few of the pics. If you flip these calls over they all have either a slate or glass surface, with certain soundboards underneath.
These are just like musical instruments. If its not quite right, it doesnt sound good. I threw away more than 50 calls before i got the sound i wanted.
