This is a custom French style desk made to exact specifications!! This desk was a departure from my other work and was a fun challenge to build! My client is an interior designer and is renovating her home and office. I will get some more and better pictures after she renovates the office.

The base is made from 1 inch steel square tube and the top and drawers are made from maple. The base was welded together, cleaned, sanded, smoothed, primed, and painted a brilliant gold paint. It is finished with 2 coats of gloss lacquer. The top is finished with 5 coats of a gloss white lacquer sprayed on. It is top coated with 2 coats of gloss clear lacquer. My client will put a glass top on prior to use to preserve the finish.

The dimensions of this desk are 30 inches deep by 72 inches long by 30 inches tall. This was a fun project to build. Toward the end of the year, it will be professionally photographed and put in national and local publications. I will update this post when I know the publication and the date it will be available for viewing.

Great job!

”... will be professionally photographed and put in national and local publications.”

You will continue to post here and banter back and forth when you become famous, right?
