This project was my Everest! My first attempt at cabinet making- i did not make the top but the previous base for the butcher block as an accident waiting to happen-incredibly shaky and scary. So my solution is made out of native Colorado ‘beetle kill pine’ from Breckenridge Colorado. It added much more storage space and although it doesn’t go with the rest of this kitchen, I was thinking ahead to a nicer future kitchen. I didn’t go crazy with perfection in the details on this one. I had knots blow out that exposed tenon joints and sections of bark still on the stock but i just let it ride and i think it came out with a bit of built-in character. Thanks for looking!

Nice cabinet. It has an artistic flair with the character of the wood and makes a nice contrast with the rest of the cabinets.
