Eagle Feather Pendant

I am an avid recycler, upcycler, ...if it looks awesome I am nailing it down, ...ya know?

I also like to keep my offcuts, ...especially the exotics!

You can see how it turned out, ...not too shabby for a guy with big fingers, haha.

Also see the parts I started with, makes sense the materials that make this work, ...Zebrawood and Wenge, with a Maple Quill.

I was able to shape it out after glue up with my small 1” belt sander. The small cut were made with a fine pull saw and hand sanded. The quill was shaped entirely with the 1” belt sander and a file. Some fine chisel shaping happened to the pointer end of the quill once it was all dry.

Once complete I glued it all up and trimmed the quill down to scale once dry. I drilled a 1/8” hole through the top part of the quill to receive the necklace material.

After that all I had to do was string it and put it on. I think I have a few boys who might like one for Christmas!

Very cool! Leave the skulls off, my wife would like one of these. I’ve made wooden necklaces for her before.
