This is my first real shooting board. I had a haphazard one before made from some old plywood scraps that I just clamped to my bench. It was not real square and was kind of a pain to set up. I wanted something dead square that I could plop down and use quick. I’ve also been playing around making some boxes with miters and splines and wanted to be able to fine tune those miters so they are dead on so thought I would make a donkey’s ear jig for the board as well.
Both the shooting board and donkey’s ear attachment are made from 3/4” mdf (because its flat and cheap) and edges trimmed in oak. The tightening knob is scrap from the walnut and cherry folding wine stand I made awhile back.
So anyway, this combo works great and I’ll hopefully have some finished boxes to add soon. Oh and I really want a low angle jack plane now. Thanks for checking it out.
