New Deck

This has been my biggest project in quite some time. Got tired of my little paver patio that always seemed to be damp, cold and mossy. I decided it was time to change that. So with my sons help we built a nice floating deck that is bigger and covers the old paver patio. It is much nicer, I like to sit out here in the morning and drink my coffee and actually enjoy going out to BBQ again in the evenings. My dog’s liked to sun bathe out there too. Unfortunately, we lost them both within a 6 month period this year. Hence the dog bed for the new Labradoodle in my other project post.

That’s a very nice looking deck. That bow front step and railing is a super touch. Very sorry about your dogs. It’s tough to lose good friends like that.

Thank you, and yes it is tough losing them, they were family for 10 & 11 years.

Very nice deck.
It’s always nice to be up and elevated off the ground while relaxing…......a flat patio just isn’t the same for whatever reason.

You did a fine job on that deck. It will be a great place to relax.

That’s a good looking deck. It’s also nice to see someone who gets the joist/decking orientation correct. You wouldn’t believe the percentage of times I’ve seen it backwards ( joist running perpendicular to the structure & decking running parallel).

Coffee on the back porch is a good thing, do it daily myself. I got five dogs that hang out with me in the morning too.

Sorry to hear about your dogs. Glad to hear that you’ve already got to make something for the new dog.
