I had a request for another wooden ring holder. This one is made from a scrap piece of box elder that I took to school and no one wanted. It is 3” diameter and 3 1/2” high and finished with EEE and Shellawax.

cheers, Jim

Quite a bit of flame in that small piece Jim. Their loss. Cool job.

Looking Good.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

You’re getting your money’s worth out of that BE Jim :)
Is this a hollowed out box as well ? looks like it possibly has a lid section on the shoulder, just wondering
cheers bud

Thanks Jack, Pete and Lew!

Hi Pete. No, not hollowed. That shoulder is just a swoop radius I put in there to take away from the plain-ness of the shape. This is one of the corner blocks from the BE bowl I made from that log. I found another one on the floor today and It is not even big enough for a yo yo. I just can’t throw petty wood away!!!!!!
I may make a ring out of it!!!!!!!!!

Cheers, Jim

Looks great Jim. Kinda reminds me of that verse from the Bible that goes something like “the stone that was rejected has become the cornerstone”

The wood that was rejected by high school kids has become a really nice freaking project. -Tooch 10:17

Thanks, Tooch. The kids have not been at it long enough to see the potential in a scrap piece. I do have them picking the best grain in ambrosia maple for yo yo’s though.

cheers, Jim
