I found this interesting knife block online http://www.instructables.com/id/Knife-Block/

so I made one, didn’t use the provided CAD drawing, created my own template

I’ve seen the design in your link before. Very cool design. I feel there are two issues with this holder. One is the lack of blade cover for those that have children. The other is that blades should be stored edge up, not edge down as pictured here. Storing knives edge up prolong edge sharpness and prevents possible damage. Since there are no small children in my house, I would love to have one on my counter. That said, with my luck, my husband would some how cut his finger on it. He cooks, I sharpen. ;) ... thanks for sharing!
