Noticed someone had commented again wondering how I attached the Cotton Mill table top to the base since there is no metal in the table. I drilled 1.75 holes through the top wings of the base, then placed the base on the table to mark where those holes were on the table top. Drilled 1.5” shallow, about 1”, holes with a forstner bit into the underside of the top. I then turned some Maple Pegs and did each one’s tip slightly different for fun, then epoxied them into the shallow holes. Drilled some 3/4” holes through the pegs. Then I tested fit, and rasped out the base holes if there was any resistence when dropping the base onto the top.. Finally finshed them to match the top and base, flipped the base over and dropped the top. Then made some wedges similar to the bases wedges and wedged the top down as you can see in the last picture. When it’s time to move the table, all you have to do is tap the wedges out. I also made a small tiny wood mallet and gave it to Lauren and her Husband and told them it was the “table tapper”.

For the bench, I used a little different wedging to ensure the notched rail wouldn’t pop out on either end, The top of the bench is screwed to the base so it too can be taken apart for whatever reason.

I hope this answers everyone’s question about how to attach the table top. This was my approach…not sure if others have done the same or not.

Very unique method of attaching tops to bases—well engineered, and very attractive!
