First chessboard

This is the first chessboard I made. Made of Oak and Maple, with linseed oil to bring out the color, and 5 or 6 coats of semi-gloss poly. The first picture is after the first coat of poly, and the last is the finished product with all coats. I’m glad I took my time gluing and clamping so it came out completely flat.. I learned my lesson from an wobbly butcher’s block I made before this. Overall I’m very happy with it!
