This is a hall bench/tree that I made for my son and daughter-in-law as a wedding present. I saw one on the internet that looked similar and used the dimensions from that for this one. I drew it up in Sketch-up, and AutoCAD first. It’s solid oak except for the panels. It’s finished with min-wax Early American stain and three coats of wipe on poly.

Great looking bench. I like the functionality with the coat hooks, upper shelf, and what i assume is storage under the hinged lid.

Are the vertical slats mortised in?

My daughter just walked by, and pointed out how usefull one of these would be for our back entryway. I have to agree….adding one more thing to my to-do list

Thanks for sharing
