I made this cat for my wife for christmas. It is my first try at intarsia. The legs and bottom of the body are made of popular, the rest of the body is made of oak, the eye, ear and nose are made of wenge, and I forget what I used for the forehead. I cut all the pieces with a scroll saw, fit them tightly using a spindle sander, contoured the body with a round 1 1/2” round sand disc on the end of a drill and finished it with water based poly-urethane.

cool cat… nice work for your first piece of intarsia… I could be wrong, but the forehead piece almost looks like walnut… either way, nice work…

Very well made first intarsia. I like your pattern. Did you design it yourself? Great job!
