Been away too long again! This set was a huge pain. I don’t like painting my carving and this set had a lot of painting, ha! The set features the ‘real’ players of the ‘64 Championship team…some you NFL fans have heard of these guys before…like Jim Brown and Paul Warfield and Frank Ryan and Paul Wiggans and Galen Fiss to name a few. The kings are only 4” tall, the bases are 1.5” square and the pawns were only 2” tall (including the base) nearly impossible to get my hands in there to do any work. this was the second smallest set I’ve ever made.

Anyway, I liked the final outcome. Thanks for looking…think I have a few others I’ll post soon, but first want to check out what everybody has been up to. Thanks for taking a peak!

wow, that is a huge amount of work, and oh yea….the painting would have been a real pain, but in your line of business, its going to come..but you did a fantastic job.

WOW! One very unique chess set. Very interesting american football motive, nicely coloured.

Yea that was Paul Warfield rookie year, one of my all time favorite wideout. I can still hear the voice of the Brown calling out the formation. Warfield out right Collins left Milt Morean in tight…those were great year for our beloved Browns. Nice work on your chess set thanks for posting!
