This piece of black walnut looks bookmatched, but it was a continuous piece that was crosscut. I had somebody weld a steel base for me. I spray pained the base with a textured paint. I wanted to keep the base as minimalist as possible.

The walnut and top are beautiful.
Not sure I am a fan of the rubber leg tips… you find on the end of folding chairs and ping pong table legs. I know you are trying to keep the legs minimal to not distract from the beautiful top but that is exactly what the rubber ends do for me. Plus round legs on a relatively square table top. I think square tube legs might have been a better option but to each his own….......and I sure don’t claim to be any sort of design specialist what-so-ever.

i gotta agree with ohwoodeye the rubber tipped legs take away from that gorgeous walnut top,so instead of nakashima we get edge slabes are my weakness so your top looks great.just my opinion also.

The rubber feet are a sore spot with me also. There needed to be something to protect carpeting and wood floors. I consider it a design compromise, but would love to see them gone.

Nicely done, shows good taste.

Some of the live edge attempts I’ve seen on here are abominations. Live edge doesn’t mean anything goes!

Nothing I like more than live edge furniture parts.

I love the table! I also am a big fan of combining interesting wood tops with metal bases. One solution I have come up with for the feet is to weld the legs closed on the bottom and drill a hole/tack weld a nut to the bottom. This nut will accept threaded, padded feet that you can find at most big box stores. If you are trying to keep it lower profile, you can preinstall the nut on the bottom piece and weld the leg closed with the nut inside.

Again, great looking table!
