I’ve made a ton of pens and other stuff on the lathe but never a bowl. Rockler had a stack of figured maple bowl blanks so I grabbed a few AAA pieces. Here’s the first one I turned. While not as challenging as I thought it would be, it was certainly a learning experience. I was experimenting with a Sorby spiraling tool on the bottom.

nice lip for your first bowl….congrats….looks like some nice curl….which rockler did you go to…. I just order some dyes for some of the curly stuff, and just getting more and more excited while it is in transit.
