our first real father and son project,he needed a queen bed for his tiny 400 sq foot house, yeah the bed takes up 1/3 of the living area.this was his design, and his choice of finish, black stain, not my idea of fun.the bed is made of solid oak with six drawers on glides, only 3 are usable at this point in came out good and hes happy with it,thats all that matters.ill give one tip dont ever use a gel stain on a 95 degree day with low humidity, you will not enjoy the process.

That’s a very good-looking bed, Larry. But, with 400sf, I might’ve considered a Murphy with drawers built into the cabinet into which the bed folds. Very lovely, though. A Captain’s bed, I think they call that.

Beautiful and complex design. Kind of ’’floating’’.
