Hey Guys and Gals: I am jumpin on the bandwagon. I saw people making things with the lathe, like pens and bowls, etc. So i went first and took a two hour class on making pens. I bought a small midi lathe. And the things to go with it to make pens and here they are. The first one on the left was the one i made in class with the instructors help. The second one and third i made in my own shop. My wife wanted a thick phd pen so I made her the third one. Hope you like.

Very nice! Iv’e not got into pens yet as I dont have a lathe but I could see it as a joy to do. I remember as a kid my dad bought a lathe for $25 and my 3 brothers and I took turns making chips. It was fun.

Good looking pens, Monty. I’m going to have to try some myself.

Way to go Monty … they look great. You will find out there is no better therapy than turning a pen.
