One day I was siting at my computer playing Runescape when I heard a loud snap. I thought it was just something happening upstairs but then a minute later…the chair gave and I fell over.

Looking for a new project at the time, I decided to take on the challenge of angled mortise and tenons, and curved arms, both of which I had never even come close to trying. I hope to make a full chair someday and I thought this would be a good experience towards that goal. I figured I had seen enough project on LJs to figure out how to do it, and sure enough I was right…thanks for the help.

I think they turned out great. Unlike most of my other project I took a lot of time making sure I got the dimensions right. As you can see from the third pic it came out the same as the original…WOOT.

thats a good idea, the arms on my chair aren’t adjustable and aren’t at a comfortable height, Im gonna add popping em off and making replacemtents to my to do list ;)

also eve online > runescape

You have a great “save” there. I agree that it is way better than the original.

Thats crazy good! Now the arms are worth more than the rest of the chair, LOL. Looking forward to seeing a whole chair made by you some time in the future.

That is a wonderful addition and what caught my eye is I have the same Chairs in my office. I think I am going to have to add this project to my to-do list as well.
